2020 Tacoma Highland Games Cancelled
The Tacoma Highland Games Association regrets to announce the cancellation of the 51st Annual Tacoma Games that were supposed to be held on June 27, 2020. During the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot in good conscience move forward with the 2020 event. We not only considered the safety, health, and well-being of our guests, competitors, clans, vendors, and volunteers, but also the economic impacts the extended Stay Home, Stay Healthy Order to the many thousands of people in our community. With a heavy heart, we came to the conclusion that cancelling the Games is necessary.
Over the next few weeks we will be in direct contact with those competitors, clans, and vendors that have already committed to the 2020 games to coordinate refunds and next steps.
This year’s Tacoma Games were supposed to be a new beginning, but do not count us out. We will be back even stronger in 2021 ready to usher in the next 50 years of celebrating Scottish culture and traditions in Pierce County. Our planning continues in full force and the 51st Tacoma Games will take place in June 2021! Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and check our website for updates.
